本书是一部较为全面梳理和评价中华人民共和国成立以来中国的外国文学批评发展史的专著。按照所涉及的时段分为七个部分：中国现代外国文学批评的历史回顾；马克思主义文论的中国化；关于批评大家的讨论；现代派文学的论争；后现代主义的论争与批评以及21世纪以来的外国文学批评。与以往的各类文学批评史不同，本书作者有着广阔的国际化视野，试图将中国的外国文学批评放在一个世界文学及其理论批评的大背景之下，并且有意识地将中国的外国文学批评与国际文学理论批评进行比较，从而彰显中国的外国文学批评的特色和国际性。此外，本书以问题为导向，以史带论，在一个世界文学和文论的大背景下系统探讨了中国的外国文学批评。

This book is a relatively comprehensive monograph that comprehensively sorts out and evaluates the history of the development of foreign literary criticism in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is divided into seven sections according to the period covered: a historical review of modern Chinese foreign literary criticism; the sinicization of Marxist literature; Discussion about criticism; the polemics of modernist literature; Postmodernist polemics and criticism and foreign literary criticism since the 21st century. Different from the previous history of various literary criticisms, the author of this book has a broad international vision, trying to place China's foreign literary criticism in the context of world literature and its theoretical criticism, and consciously comparing China's foreign literary criticism with international literary theoretical criticism, so as to highlight the characteristics and internationality of China's foreign literary criticism.
