在全球化的背景下，当代主要社会思潮尽管因其所处区域、所具有的思想、理论背景、所代表的利益群体有所不同而呈现五彩缤纷的斑斓色彩，但是追根溯源，我们仍然可以从中缕析出一些基本的头绪，马克思主义与自由主义作为分歧的两端，在两端之间存在着融合两端或者折衷的观点。与此同时，左右翼倾向存在于这些不同的社会思潮中，作为相对性概念，所谓左翼、或者右翼本身并没有确定的内涵，马克思主义学派中倾向于右翼的学者与自由主义学派中倾向于左翼的学者，存在着话语重叠。理解马克思主义与自由主义的分歧焦点，至少使我们能够比较容易地理解和把握各种社会思潮的来龙去脉、基本特征、社会诉求的立足点等等基本要素，为以马克思主义为指导思想的中国特色社会主义事业的健康发展提供理论借鉴。
In the context of globalization, although the major contemporary social trends are colorful and colorful due to their different regions, ideological and theoretical backgrounds, and interest groups they represent, we can still trace back to the roots, from which we can still extract some basic clues, Marxism and liberalism, as two ends of the difference, there are fusion or compromise views between the two ends.
