In recent years, Chinese enterprises have participated in the international division of labor through the outsourcing model and achieved rapid development, becoming the "world factory". However, many enterprises are still in the middle and low-end of the global value chain production, facing the grim situation of achieving sustainable development through upgrading. This book first systematically reviews the relevant theories of international outsourcing and enterprise upgrading, analyzes the development status and characteristics of outsourcing enterprises in China, and measures and compares the outsourcing performance of various industries in China. Secondly, from the aspects of technology, labor and productivity, the theoretical framework of the upgrading mechanism of developing countries under the international outsourcing system is constructed. Then, the realistic path of upgrading enterprises in developing countries is obtained, and Foxconn Group is used as a typical case to analyze the upgrading mode of outsourcing enterprises in different periods. Finally, the industry panel data is used to empirically test the economic effect of outsourcing enterprise upgrading in China.
