本书立足于历史和逻辑的统一这一马克思主义基本方法和基本观点，以思想规定性和物质规定性的关系为主线，全面系统地梳理和研究了从近代中国空想社会主义到当代中国特色社会主义的思想演变和发展。近代以来，中国社会主义的思想史历程经历了思想对物质的超越、思想与物质的平衡、思想对物质的背离以及思想与物质新的平衡四个阶段，其中的主要内容具体体现为近代中国空想社会主义的源起、马克思主义的传播与中国社会主义从空想到科学的转变、苏联社会主义模式的介入性影响以及当代中国特色社会主义的时代崛起和勃兴。这表明，从近代中国空想社会主义到当代中国特色社会主义是一个具有自身内在规律的思想史过程，中国特色社会主义是近代以来整个中国社会主义思想发展的必然产物，体现了近代以来中国社会发展自身的历史诉求和民族特色。
Based on the basic Marxist method and viewpoint of the unity of history and logic, this book comprehensively and systematically sorts out and studies the ideological evolution and development from modern Chinese utopian socialism to contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics with the relationship between ideological prescriptiveness and material prescriptiveness. Since modern times, the ideological history of Chinese socialism has gone through four stages: the transcendence of thought over matter, the balance between thought and matter, the deviation of thought from matter and the new balance between thought and matter, the main contents of which are embodied in the origin of utopian socialism in modern China, the spread of Marxism and the transformation of Chinese socialism from utopia to science, the interventional influence of the Soviet socialist model, and the rise and prosperity of socialism with contemporary Chinese characteristics. This shows that the transition from modern Chinese utopian socialism to contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics is an ideological historical process with its own internal laws, and socialism with Chinese characteristics is an inevitable product of the development of the entire Chinese socialist ideology in modern times, which embodies the historical demands and national characteristics of China's social development since modern times.（AI翻译）
