本书基于国内外美国小说研究之研究的现状和存在的问题，以文学接受批评和新历史主义文学批评为理论参照，通过细读自20世纪初以来国内重要学术期刊发表的美国小说研究论文和重要出版社出版的美国小说研究论著及相关研究学术论文与论著，深入研究了三个不同历史时期（1901-1978年、1979-1999年、2000-2015年）中国美国小说研究的热点、角度、方法和总体走向，从整体角度历时性系统地探讨了中国美国小说研究在百年进程中从意识形态批评逐步走向非意识形态批评和多元文学文化批评的历史嬗变及其文化和文学效应，总结了百年中国美国小说研究中的成功经验和失败教训，展望了未来中国美国小说研究的发展趋势。

Based on the current situation and existing problems of American novel research at home and abroad, this book takes literary reception criticism and new historicist literary criticism as theoretical references, and deeply studies three different historical periods (1901-1978, 1979-1999, 2000-2015), the hot spots, angles, methods and overall trends of Chinese American novel research, systematically discussed the historical transmutation and cultural effects of Chinese American novel research from ideological criticism to non-ideological criticism and multi-literary cultural criticism in the course of a hundred years from an overall perspective, summarized the successful experience and failure lessons of Chinese American novel research in the past century, and looked forward to the development trend of Chinese American novel research in the future.（AI翻译）
