本书以马克思主义的文化理论为指导，同时借鉴了社会学、文化人类学的相关理论和方法，对社会转型期壮族民间文化变迁的特征、变迁的动力、变迁的过程、变迁的趋势以及壮族民间文化变迁的社会影响、国家及地方政府引导壮族民间文化变迁的实践努力、国家及地方政府在保护壮族民间文化过程中面临的困境与对策等重要问题进行了实证研究。本书对系统认识转型期壮族民间文化变迁，对科学引导壮族民间文化变迁和有效保护壮族民间文化，具有重要意义。
