本书调查研究的对象是农民工群体，关注了该群体的语言状况，了解语言需求，发现语言问题，揭示其语言城市化过程。本书将农民工群体“工”化阶段的语言状况和“市民”化阶段的语言文字需求结合在一起，初步构架起农民工语言城市化的脉络，概括出“一个变化趋势”“两个发展阶段”“三个推进层次”的城市化模式。本书也关注到言语社区的新变化，提出农民工群体在城市结成精神层面的新言语社区，丰富了言语社区理论。

the research object of this book is migrant workers group, paying attention to the language situation of this group, understanding language needs, discovering language problems, and revealing the process of language urbanization. This book combines the language condition of migrant workers in the "industrial" stage with the language demand of "citizen" stage, preliminarily constructs the context of migrant workers' language urbanization, and summarizes the urbanization mode of "one change trend", "two development stages" and "three promotion levels". This book also pays attention to the new changes of speech communities, and puts forward that migrant workers form new speech communities at the spiritual level in cities, which enriches the theory of speech communities. < / p >
