本书一方面梳理社会保障机构的经费情况及经费对机构运营状态的影响，另一方面考察社会保障机构经费问题折射出的社会经济状况。上编分别梳理清代江浙地区的养济院、育婴堂和民国年间松江三善堂、江浙救济院等社会保障机构的经费状况，并探讨经费对其运营实态的影响：下编考察与社会保障机构经费相关的命案市H验、厘金起源、晚清基层社会管理格局变动、晚清江南田租负担等问题。本书以社会保障机构的经费问题为突破口，努力发掘新史料，采用新的研究视角，将经济史和社会史有机结合，得出一系列新的看法，纠正了以往认识的偏差，对近代江南地区的社会保障事业及社会状况有更为深入和全面的认识。

On the one hand, this book sorts out the funding situation of social security institutions and the impact of funds on the operation status of institutions, and on the other hand, examines the socio-economic situation reflected by the funding of social security institutions. The first part respectively sorts out the funding status of social security institutions such as nursing homes and nurseries in Jiangsu and Zhejiang in the Qing Dynasty, Songjiang Sanshan Hall, Jiangsu and Zhejiang Almshouses during the Republic of China, and discusses the impact of funds on their actual operations: the second part examines the murder city H test related to the funds of social security institutions, the origin of Lijin, the changes in the grassroots social management pattern of the late Qing Dynasty, and the rent burden of Nantian in the late Qing Dynasty. Taking the funding of social security institutions as a breakthrough, this book strives to discover new historical materials, adopt new research perspectives, organically combine economic history and social history, draw a series of new views, correct the deviation of previous understanding, and have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the social security undertakings and social conditions in the modern Jiangnan region.（AI翻译）
