This book systematically sorts out the research results of mainland scholars discussing modern Chinese social history from the mid-80s of the 20th century to 2015, and traces the relevant academic sources before. This book reviews the basic issues of theory and method, paradigm and perspective, academic school and style of modern Chinese social history research, and analyzes the characteristics and trends of different stages of development of the discipline.
