经由“天缺须补而可补”成为民族精神的象征,其缺者的大与圣,其补者的仁与智,无不可以引发创造精神和神思妙想的大爆发。何况人们又说女娲制作笙簧,希望在创造性的爆发中融入更多美妙动人的音符?李贺诗:“女娲炼石补天处,石破天惊逗秋雨。”歌咏的是西域乐器箜篌,朝鲜平民乐曲《箜篌引》,可见精神境界之开放,诚如清人所云:“本咏箜篌耳,忽然说到女娲、神妪,惊天入月,变眩百怪,不可方物,真是鬼神于文。”(黄周星《唐诗快》)创造性思维既可以正面立意,又可反向着墨,如司空图《杂言》:“乌飞飞,兔蹶蹶(乌与兔是日月之精),朝来暮去驱时节。女娲只解补青天,不解煎胶粘日月。”当然也可以融合多端,开展综合创新,如卢仝的古体诗:“神农(应是伏羲)画八卦,凿破天心胸。女娲本是伏羲妇,恐天怒。捣炼五色石,引日月之针,五星之缕把天补。补了三日不肯归婿家,走向日中放老鸦,月里栽桂养虾蟆。”这就把伦常幽默、月宫神话,也交织到炼石补天的神思中了。更杰出的创造,是把炼石补天神话的终点当作新起点的创造。这就是曹雪芹的《红楼梦》,把女娲炼石补天时被弃置的一块顽石当作通灵宝石,带到人间走了阅尽繁华与悲凉的一遭,写成了“无材可去补苍天,枉入红尘若许年”的“天书”与“人书”相融合的精神启示录。由五色石引爆的这些奇正创新、综合创新和跨越式原始创新的丰富思路,应该成为我们书系的向导,引导我们进行根底扎实,又五彩缤纷的学术探索,或如宋朝一位隐居黄山的诗人所云:“我有五色线,补衮衮可新;我有五色石,补天天可春。”(汪莘《野趣亭》)

我们处在改革开放的时代,世界视野空前开阔,创新欲望空前旺盛,学理思维空前活跃。伴随着中华民族的全面复兴,思想学术文化已经以其无比丰厚的成绩走入了一个新的纪元。但我们也迎接着全球化和市场化的扑面而来的机遇中的严峻挑战。高科技对文学生存方式的强势介入,市场机制对文学生产的批量性推动,消费时尚对文学潮流的极端吸引,以及网络、图像参与其间的新媒体文学表达形态,包括林林总总的电视文学、摄影文学、网络文学、手机文学、图说文学等形态的火爆滋生,令人深刻地感受到今日之文学已远非昔日之文学了。对于原有的文学格局、形态和秩序而言,这里所面临的泛化性的消解和创新的包容的挑战,严峻地考验着当今学术界的学理担当能力。如果说在某些领域,在某种程度上,也出现了一些与女娲神话类似的“四极废,九州裂,天不兼覆,地不周载”的危机,大概也不应被看做是危言耸听吧。那么,又从哪里找到补苍天的五色石,立四极的鳌足和止淫水的芦灰呢?若能够由此写出女娲炼石补天的新篇,也是本书系不胜翘首企盼的。

令人满怀信心的是,中华民族的生命力和创造力百摧不磨,往往在艰难的挑战中出现超强度的爆发,在爆发中显示了坚毅的魄力和深厚的文化元气。浩瀚雄厚的多地域多民族的历史文化资源和现实文化实践,成为它层出不穷地为人类提供文化经验和创新智慧的不竭源泉。且不说旷世莫比的少数民族神话,即便中原神话虽未衍化为长篇英雄传奇,却散落为遍地开花的民俗奇观。五色石在历朝志怪和许多地理志中,屡有记载,女娲庙在甘肃秦州有,湖北房州也有。女娲抟土造人处据传在汉武帝《秋风辞》吟咏的汾阴,女娲墓则在九曲黄河最大的弯曲处古潼关附近的风陵渡,因为女娲风姓,风陵也就成了娲皇陵了。中华民族是把自己的母亲河和这位创世女神连在一起的。五色石散落之处有广东产端砚的山溪,《元丰九域志》云:“端溪山有五色石,上多香草,俗谓之香山。”明代诗人说:“女娲炼馀五色石,藏在端溪成紫霞。天遣六丁神琢砚,梦中一笔夜生花。”(张昱《题端古堂》)既然五色石散落岭南,那么炼石的灶口在哪里?在太行山。明人陆深《河汾燕闲录》说:“石炭即煤也……(山西)平定所产尤胜,坚黑而光,极有火力。史称女娲氏炼五色石以补天,今其遗灶在平定之东浮山。予谓此即后世烧煤之始。”五色石通过创世女神之手,成为一种天地交泰的文化生命结晶,它一头联结着赋予人类生存以温暖的“坚黑而光”的能源,另一头联结着文化创造的“梦笔生花”的灵性。在如此浩瀚无垠的天地、人类、历史、文化空间进行新世纪的文学学术创造,尽管阅尽风云变幻的价值重建、形式变换和文学边界模糊,但我们的民族也有足够的底气、智慧和能力,在文学研究中注入充满活力的人类审美本性的精髓,从中焕发出现代大国思想文化的独立品格和创新气象。
