本书是在教育部人文社会科学研究青年基金项同“十六至十九世纪银、钱流通地位的演变”（批准号11YJC770083）结项报告的基础上扩展而成，研究15-19世纪的中国货币流通问题，从银钱并用币制的形成与演变出发，探讨银两、铜钱两种货币流通地位的变迁，以及18世纪中叶以后机制银元和私票对银钱并用币制的影响。创新之处在于使用大量第一手货币史料，首次全面系统地研究了这一时期货币流通的区域差异及变化，以及当时人使用货币的具体方式，对“大数用银，小数用钱”的金融史成说提出质疑，并将银钱并用币制分为前后两个阶段。

This book is based on the final report of the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Science Research Youth Fund and the final report of "The Evolution of the Circulation Status of Silver and Money in the Sixteenth to the Nineteenth Centuries" (Approval No. 11YJC770083), which studies the problem of Chinese currency circulation from the 15th to the 19th century, and discusses the changes in the circulation status of silver and copper coins from the formation and evolution of the silver and copper currency system, and the impact of the mechanism of silver dollars and private notes on the silver and money circulation system after the middle of the 18th century.
