本书以科学发展观为指导，在继承中国传统生态文化和借鉴西方先进生态思想的基础上，以国内外生态环境日趋恶化的严峻现实与当前我国国民生态文明素质不高的现状为出发点，通过家庭教育、学校教育和社会教育等途径，以多种教育方式、方法提高国民生态文明素质为落脚点，借助理论论证与实证研究相结合的手段，采用“提出问题一分析问题一解决问题”的逻辑结构，以在全社会树立科学生态观、培养生态公民为最终目标，对我国生态文明教育进行了系统研究，提出一系列有针对性的观点和主张。
Guided by the scientific outlook on development, on the basis of inheriting China's traditional ecological culture and drawing on advanced Western ecological thought, taking the grim reality of the deteriorating ecological environment at home and abroad and the current situation of China's low quality of national ecological civilization as the starting point, this book takes family education, school education and social education and other ways to improve the quality of national ecological civilization with a variety of educational methods and methods as the foothold, and adopts the logical structure of "raising problems, analyzing problems and solving problems" by means of combining theoretical demonstration and empirical research.
