《别现代：作品与评论》-书用别现代理论对中国改革开放以来的各类美术、影视、建筑、装置、装饰、年画等具有别现代特征的艺术进行了整理并加以评论，以彰显别现代理论与当代艺术的关联，表现中国本土的艺术创新和理论创新以及国际影响。

别现代是近年来由中国学者提出并在国内外引起很大反响的社会形态理论，是与西方的现代、后现代理论并列的创新性体系。别现代理论包括对社会形态的描述和对社会形态的价值倾向即别现代主义两部分。别现代主义主张区别真伪现代性，建立真正的现代性。因此，本书所选作品自然形成了反思批判和被反思被批判两大部分，借助于艺术评论，留给读者一个思考、分辨、想象的空间。

本书所选作品的作者有的已经发表声明声称自己是别现代艺术家，有的表示支持别现代主义艺术观，有的对别现代理论并非十分了解，因此，本书既表现出学术探讨精神，又表现出明显的通过别现代理论建构别现代主义艺术流派的愿景。

Brief Introduction：

Bie-modern：Works and Commentary adopts the Bie-moderntheory to sort and comment on various arts with typical Bie-modernfeatures covering fine arts,film and TV art installation,decoration,New Year pictures,etc.,illustrating the close relationship betweenthe Bie-modern theory and contemporary art and manifestingChinese artistic and theoretical innovation and its internationalinfluence as well.

The Bie-modern,a theory of social form which is proposedby Chinese scholar and has aroused great response at home andabroad,is regarded as an innovative system that can be parallel tothe Western modem and postmodern theories.The Bie-moderntheory includes the description of social form and its valueorientation which is called "Bie-modernism".The Bie-modemismadvocates the distinction between true and pseudo modernity,andthe establishment of real modernity.Therefore,the selected worksin this book naturally form the two major kinds of criticism,that is,reflecting and being reflected criticizing and being criticized to leavethe audience a space for thinking,distinguishing and imaginingthrough the help of art commentary.

Among the authors of the selected works,some have issueda manifesto claiming that they are the Bie-modern artists; somesupport the view of the Bie-modemist art while some do not knowso much about the Bie-modern theory.Thus,this book not onlyexpresses the spirit of academic research,but also shows the visionof building Bie-modemist art school through the Bie-modern theory.
