The Three Kingdoms, Two Jin Dynasties, and Northern and Southern Dynasties periods began with the actual formation of the three regimes of Cao Wei, Shu Han and Sun Wu during the Jian'an period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and since then ancient China has entered a pattern of long-term division and chaos from great unification, until the Sui Dynasty reunified the country, which lasted for four centuries. It was also a long transition period from the Han to the Tang Dynasty. During this historical period, from the separation of the Three Kingdoms to the unification of the Sui Dynasty, there was only a brief unification of 36 years after the Western Jin Dynasty destroyed Wu, and the rest of the time was divided and war. At the same time, there was an unprecedented wave of migration caused by ethnic migration, many ancient ethnic minorities moved inward to the northern part of the Central Plains, and the Han people in the north crossed the Yangtze River to the south, squeezing many ancient ethnic groups in the south of the Jiangnan to move southeast. There are also people from the Western Regions who moved to China through the Silk Road. The traditional culture of the Han people and many ancient ethnic cultures that have migrated inward, and still foreign cultures, continue to contact, collide, fight and even merge, so that Chinese civilization has entered a more brilliant new stage. From the glorious Han culture, after this long, painful and vibrant transition period, a more brilliant Tang culture standing at the peak of world culture at that time was bred. The archaeology of the Three Kingdoms, the Two Jin Dynasties, and the Northern and Southern Dynasties uses the limited relics and archaeological specimens obtained from field archaeology to strive to reflect and analyze the history and culture of this great historical transition. The Three Kingdoms, Two Jins, and Northern and Southern Dynasties Scrolls is the seventh volume of Chinese Archaeology (nine volumes), which mainly introduces the results of field archaeological investigation and research in the 20th century, mainly since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. It focuses on the new archaeological discoveries and research on the remains of cities (represented by the capital) during the Three Kingdoms, Two Jins and Northern and Southern Dynasties, and explores its important position in the history of the development of ancient Chinese capitals. The excavation of tombs in this period is also comprehensively introduced, and special attention is paid to the artistic value of mural tombs. Due to the culturally different characteristics of this period of historical transition, Buddhist archaeology and the study of stone carvings and simple texts have been carefully sorted out and elaborated in this volume. Several aspects that can be elucidated from archaeological specimens were selected to expound the production technology and social life of the Three Kingdoms, the Two Jins, and the Northern and Southern Dynasties. This volume tries to build a discipline system of archaeology of the Three Kingdoms, the Two Jin Dynasties, and the Northern and Southern Dynasties based on the limited results of archaeological excavations. The history of the Three Kingdoms, the Jin Dynasty, the Northern and Southern Dynasties, which is the historical transition stage between the Han and Tang dynasties, especially the discovery of material culture, is restored and analyzed. This book is suitable for professionals who study history, archaeology, cultural museums and art history, as well as history and archaeology enthusiasts.(AI翻译)
