《母爱与成长：托妮·莫里森小说研究》以莫里森五部小说中的母爱与孩子的成长为灵魂和主张，对小说中关于此主题的碎片式的循环叙述进行合乎逻辑的线性解读，全书诠释细腻、脉络清晰。托妮·莫里森是美国文学史上第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女作家，她的每一部作品都充满了母爱，但莫氏笔下的母爱大多是扭曲的、缺失的甚至是暴力的，在以白人为主流的美国社会里，黑人母亲的这种爱与众不同且震撼人心，令人反思。

田亚曼，1963年12月出生于沈阳，1988年毕业于大连外国语学院英语系，2003年获吉林大学英美文学硕士学位，研究方向英美文学，现任浙江工业大学之江学院外语分院副教授。出版译著有《魔鬼的律师》等；发表《虚幻中的自我意识——莫里森小说解读》等学术论文20余篇。曾获辽宁省社会科学优秀成果奖。
