本书突破近现代以来对西方中心主义的迷信，突破“东方一西方”、“中国模式一西方自由民主模式”的二元分析框架，不把中国当成例外或者把中国现有发展进程视为对美国模式的追赶或者复制，而是从思想来源、价值追求、发展道路、制度基础、对外战略等多方面对“中国梦”与“美国梦”这两种梦想所各自代表的价值体系和社会理想进行比较与分析，对社会理想与社会实践之间的互动关系，对社会理想因自身的话语权力而相对于社会、政治和经济等领域的现实运行所具有的独立性等进行系统的归纳，并且，阐述两种梦想的差异性、竞争性和当前所面临的共同挑战。

This book breaks through the superstition of Western-centrism since modern times, breaks through the binary analysis framework of "East and West" and "China Model and Western liberal democracy model", does not regard China as an exception or regards China's existing development process as catching up or copying the American model, but compares and analyzes the value system and social ideals represented by the two dreams of the "Chinese Dream" and the "American Dream" from many aspects, such as ideological source, value pursuit, development path, institutional foundation, and foreign strategy. This paper systematically summarizes the interaction between social ideals and social practices, systematically summarizes the independence of social ideals from the actual operation of society, politics and economics due to their own discourse power, and expounds the differences, competitiveness and common challenges faced by the two dreams.（AI翻译）
