The study of world history in New China has gone through a seventy years of history. From discipline construction, system establishment, teaching and research, and talent cultivation, remarkable achievements have been made. Guided by Marx's historical materialism and dialectics, this book summarizes the study of China's world history over the past 70 years into three stages—the founding of New China, the period of the "Cultural Revolution," and the new period of reform and opening up. This paper summarizes the fields, key points and problems involved in each stage, compares the progress of domestic predecessors and foreign academic research, points out the achievements and gaps in world history research at each stage, explores the subjective and objective reasons, and puts forward the direction of future efforts. Then, each sub-discipline of world history is reviewed one by one, including research theory and method, general history of the world, history of broken dynasties, regional history, national history, historical figures, historical events, and the depth and characteristics of thematic history research, as well as discipline construction, talent training, collation, introduction and translation of domestic and foreign documents.
