This book answers the question of why and what kind of homesickness was written since China modernized in the 20th century. Distinguishing the differences in the operating mechanism of literature caused by different stages of China's modernization limits the form, content, and theme of literary nostalgia, and points out that literary nostalgia implies the dual attitude of intellectuals who both pursue and hesitate to modernization. This book examines and discovers the mysteries related to homesickness and modernization from the perspectives of politics, economy, history, philosophy, and culture through the methods of cultural interpretation, and explores the literary essence of homesickness in China over the past century.
