At present, laboratory archaeology has been widely carried out in more than ten provinces, cities, autonomous regions and two universities across China. In order to further promote the construction of laboratory archaeology and to advance laboratory archaeological research and teaching throughout the country, the author has written this manuscript. This is the first monograph on laboratory archaeology in China so far. It covers the basic theories, methods and techniques of laboratory archaeology, and is a reference textbook for teaching in colleges and universities. At the same time, it is also a professional reference book for archaeologists at all levels of archaeological research institutions engaged in laboratory archaeology.
