本书是关于中国远古（新石器时代）纹饰的知识性和探索性读物，包括基本知识、基本情况、研究方法与现状等，较为系统地梳理和解读各地区各考古学文化的代表性纹饰、典型纹饰与一些特殊遗迹，同时也包含了图语、科学、艺术三个角度的归类介绍与解读。力求全面性、系统性、简洁性兼顾。

This book is an informative and exploratory reading about ancient (Neolithic) ornaments in China, including basic knowledge, basic conditions, research methods and current situation, etc., which systematically sorts out and interprets the representative ornaments, typical ornaments and some special relics of archaeological cultures in various regions, and also contains the classification introduction and interpretation of three perspectives: graphics, science and art.
