The spatial layout of urbanization is a mainstream classic issue in regional economics, urban geography and urban and rural planning, and has high social attention. At present, China's urban-rural relationship is profoundly reshaped, the industrial structure is accelerating the change, and the urbanization process has changed, and this research is timely and of great significance. This book argues that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China will be in the "middle stage" of the middle and late stages of rapid urbanization development, the "change of track" period from "fast state" to "slow state", and the superposition characteristics of "five phases", that is, the continuous slowdown of urbanization speed, the concentrated outbreak period of urbanization problems, the multi-directional superposition period of population flow, the accelerated differentiation period of urban pattern and the transformation period of urbanization development. The next step should focus on shaping a diversified, open, efficient and high-quality new urbanization spatial layout, and promote the optimization of urbanization spatial layout from spatial form, industrial development, population flow, transportation construction, ecological protection, etc. in accordance with the overall idea of "stabilizing scale, adjusting structure, strong function, multi-form and high efficiency".
