清末乡村管理思想历史演变是一个十分复杂的学术问题，学界有关这一历史现象专门而系统的研究仍然较为薄弱。笔者首先梳理了我国传统乡村管理思想的发展脉络、基本内容与特点，进而就其在清代中期的总结与发展略作介绍；之后，笔者逐层解析其历史演变的发端与动力、争论与趋同、阶段与内涵、特征与原因，力图走向思想变迁的历史现场；进而探讨了清末乡镇自治思想的实践，以及其历史演变后的国家与乡村关系；最后，笔者试图揭示出其历史演变的心路与理路，尝试性提出有关当今村民自治建设的“三层治理机制”的理论假设。总之，从管理思想史研究出发，结合乡村社会史与文化史研究，本书拟就“清末乡村管理思想历史演变”进行整体性考察与通贯性研究，进而寻求社会主义村民自治的学理依据，揭示其深层次的历史启示，预测与把握其未来走势。

The historical evolution of rural management thought in the late qing dynasty is a very complicated academic question, and the research on this historical phenomenon is still weak. The author firstly combing the development context, basic contents and characteristics of traditional rural management thought in China, and then briefly introduced its summarization and development in the middle of the qing dynasty. After that, the author analyzes the origin and power of its historical evolution, the debate and the convergence, the stage and the connotation, the characteristics and the reasons, and tries to go to the historical scene of the change of thought. Furthermore, the practice of the self-government ideology in the late qing dynasty and the relations between the country and the country after its historical evolution have been discussed. Finally, the author tries to reveal the heart and the way of its historical evolution, and puts forward the theoretical hypothesis of "three-layer governance mechanism" about the self-government construction of the villagers. All in all, starting from the management thought history research, combined with the rural social history and cultural history research, this book aims at "rural management thought historical evolution in the late qing dynasty" integrity investigation and coherent research, thus to seek for the theoretical basis of socialist villagers' autonomy, reveals its deep historical enlightenment, forecast and grasp its future trend.
