课堂教学最重要的方式是讲述，语言是最基本、也是最重要的交际方式。站位语用学的研究立场，教师的课堂讲述是一种言语行为，可以而且必须从言语行为的角度加以认识。课堂教学言语行为是以告知为核心交际意图的言语交际行为，告知是其基本属性。课堂教学言语交际围绕着告知交际意图的实现而进行，告知交际主体、告知交际形式、告知交际语境对告知交际意图的实现、告知效果的达成具有重要影响。
