The research object of this book is centered on the study of metadrama in the English-speaking world, and the translation and dissemination of metadrama throughout the English-speaking world since the 18th century to the west. This book focuses on the combination of review and historical theory, comprehensively and systematically sorts out and explains the research of metadrama in the English-speaking world from the dual dimensions of duration and synchronic times, and pays more attention to "detecting differences" while "seeking common ground" with domestic metadrama research, thus effectively highlighting the distinctive characteristics of metadrama research in the English-speaking world in terms of content and methods.
