本书以皇权巩固与皇位传承为主线，考察清朝帝后、宗室、外戚、权臣、将领、太监、八旗女性、封疆大吏、满汉文士等各色人物与宫廷政治的关系。通过发掘和利用满、汉文新史料，对多尔衮称“皇父摄政王”引发太后下嫁说、康熙帝口述回忆中的鳌拜擅权、索额图助皇太子“潜谋大事”、两江总督噶礼获罪赐死等热点问题提出新认识，对相关档案文献做了史料辨正，并对历史的客观性、历史个案研究与“碎片化”、历史研究中的“求新”等理论问题进行了探讨。本书所展示的清前期宫廷政治史新内容，说明这一研究领域还有广阔的发展空间。
This book takes the consolidation of imperial power and the inheritance of the imperial throne as the main line, and examines the relationship between various figures such as Qing emperors, clansmen, foreign relatives, powerful ministers, generals, eunuchs, women of the Eight Banners, feudal officials, and Manchu and Han scribes and court politics. Through the excavation and use of new historical materials in Manchu and Chinese, new understandings were put forward on hot issues such as Dolgon's claim as "imperial father regent" triggering the empress dowager's marriage, the Kangxi Emperor's oral memories of Ao Bai's abuse of power, Suo'etu's help to the crown prince "plotting major events", and the death of the governor of Liangjiang, Kali, and other hot issues, and corrected the historical materials, and discussed theoretical issues such as historical objectivity, historical case studies and "fragmentation", and "seeking innovation" in historical research.
