本书以帝俄时代俄国远东地区中国人的活动特别是经济活动及俄同对其政策为研究对象，探讨中国人在俄国远东地区经济发展中的作用，并作出客观、公正的评价。通过对帝俄时代中国人在俄闻远东种植、工商、采金、交通运输、渔猎采集等领域的活动以及俄同对其政策的阐述，力求还原帝俄时代中闰人在俄国远东地区移民史，并揭示出俄国政府对其政策演变及其成因。在以上几个方面的基础上，探寻帝俄时代俄国远东地区的中国人与远东社会经济发展的关系以及他们在当时俄国了解中国、中国形象中扮演的角色。
This book examines the activities of Chinese in the Russian Far East during the imperial Russian era, especially economic activities and the policies of the Russian Tong, discusses the role of Chinese in the economic development of the Russian Far East, and makes an objective and fair evaluation.
