边燕杰，西安交通大学人文社会科学院院长、实证社会科学研究所所长、社会学系教授、博士生导师；美国明尼苏达大学社会学终身教授，纽约州立大学社会学博士。主要研究领域包括经济社会学、社会分层、社会网络、调查研究方法。发表了论著、编著、译著11部，中英学术论文百余篇。目前领导他的学术团队开展国家社会科学基金重大项目“多学科理解的社会网络模型研究”。主要研究领域为经济社会学、社会分层、社会网络、调查研究方法。著有《中国城市的工作与不平等》、《市场转型与社会分层》、《关系社会学丛书》等。

Dr.Yanjie Bian is Professor of Sociology at Xi' an Jiaotong University,China,where he is the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science and the Director of the Institute for Empirical Social Science Research.Concurrently,he is Professor of Sociology at the University of Minnesota,the United States of America.His main areas of research include economic sociology,social stratification,social networks,and social survey methods.He has published 11 books and over 100 scholarly articles in English and Chinese combined.He is currently leading his research team to conduct China's national social science research foundation sponsored project on social network models in multidisciplinary perspectives.
