中国现代文学是在古今中外文学与文化的纵横交叉点上发生发展的文学。该时期的文学现象也大大溢出狭义的文学范畴，而呈现出大文化的格局，中国现代文学研究也由此体现出各种不同人文学科汇聚的特点。“多维视野中的中国现代文学”正是基于该学科此一特点而进行的跨学科、 多维度研究， 力图从“文化人类学” 、“现代哲学与艺术”和“比较文学” 等多个角度对其进行宏观与微观相结合的烛照，以彰显中国现代文学与现代作家的独特形貌。在该学科选题日渐狭窄的背景下，该研究具有推动学科创新的意义。
