本书在中国传统叙事理论及戏曲叙事观念的观照下，挖掘出中国古典戏曲理论中的叙事成份，对这些“杂”“散”的理论成份进行剖析、推衍、融合，从宏观到微观以为什么叙、叙什么事、如何叙、用什么叙为视角，较系统地总结了古典戏曲的叙事观念、目的及要求、叙事内容、叙事动作、叙事媒介，力求为中国古典戏曲叙事学理论构建一个相对完整、系统的理论框架，彰显中国古典戏曲叙事理论的完整性、系统性与民族性。
Under the observation of traditional Chinese narrative theory and the narrative concept of opera, this book excavates the narrative components in classical Chinese opera theory, analyzes, derives and integrates these "miscellaneous" and "scattered" theoretical components, and systematically summarizes the narrative concepts, objectives and requirements, narrative content, narrative actions, and narrative media of classical opera from the perspective of why, what, how, and what narrative from macro to micro, and strives to build a relatively complete and systematic theoretical framework for the narrative theory of classical Chinese opera.
