《中国报刊趣文选读》是专为学习汉语的具有初、中级汉语水平的外国学生编写的。全书收入了近两年中国报刊上的珍奇趣文60篇。这些短文内容丰富，涉及的词语广泛，可使外国学生在轻松愉快的心情下学习汉语。
为了给外国学生提供学习上的方便，本书在文章编排上由浅入深，篇幅由短渐长。此外，每篇文章后都附有生词表（加有汉语拼音和英语注释）、语法注释及问题思考。语法注释部分对难懂的句子和重点词语都作了解释，特别是对重点词还加了如何使用的例句。
本书在编写和出版过程中曾得到了新西兰朋友露西、澳大利亚朋友艾兰以及中国社会科学出版社杲文川先生的热情帮助，我谨在此表示衷心的感谢。

Preface
《A Selection of Interesting Readings from Chinese Newspapers 》 is a book designed for beginner and intermediate level Chinese Language students.It contains 60 short,unusual,and thought—provoking articles,all recently selected which enable students to learn the Chinese language in a lighthearted and entertaining way.
For the convenience of foreign students,this book procceeds step by step, the texts are so arranged that they become longer and more difficult with each passing article.Each article is accompanied by a vocabulary list in both Chinese and English, and explanatory notes and questions to consider.The examples are brief and to the point,the emphasis being placed on usage.
