传记文学研究是当代人文学术探讨的核心问题之一。《阿拉伯传记文学研究》是国内第一部系统研究阿拉伯传记文学的专著。作者以一位中国学者的视角，廓清了阿拉伯传记/自传文学产生、发展、嬗变的历史轨迹和大致形态，探讨了此文类在历史发展过程中，尤其在现当代历史文化语境下的总体表征和叙事风格，分析了阿拉伯传记文学与西方传记文学的异同以及产生差异的文化、政治、宗教、语言等因素，折射出阿拉伯民族个性特征和伊斯兰文化特色，丰富了传记文学在国内的研究维度和视野。
