集聚与地区生产率增进一直是空间经济学中的经典且热门的研究议题，本书围绕该议题展开理论与实证研究。首先梳理出产业集聚促进地区生产率增进的六大机制，继而按照经典投入—产出分析框架，将上述机制归入三个机理系统，分别为投入要素形成与要素改善系统、生产函数改善系统，以及空间外部性系统。这三个机理系统之间既严格有别又彼此紧密关联。

本书以理论分析为基础，综合考虑中国区域经济多层次特征，对相关命题进行实证分析揭示：产业集聚对区域的生产率增进具有显著的正效应，其中物质资本深化和市场效率改善两个机制是集聚借以提升地区生产率的主要途径，技术进步机制与人力资本形成及积累机制的效应则不明显。制造业集聚规模与代表性集聚产业效率之间存在先促进、后抑制的倒U形关系，大都市地区制造业发展更多得益于专业化集聚经济。

Agglomeration and regional productivity improvement have always been classic and hot research topics in spatial economics, and this book provides theoretical and empirical research on this topic. Firstly, the six mechanisms of industrial agglomeration to promote regional productivity improvement are sorted out, and then the above mechanisms are classified into three mechanism systems according to the classical input-output analysis framework, namely input factor formation and factor improvement system, production function improvement system, and spatial externality system. These three mechanistic systems are both strictly distinct and closely related to each other. Based on theoretical analysis, this book comprehensively considers the multi-level characteristics of China's regional economy, and empirically analyzes relevant propositions to reveal that industrial agglomeration has a significant positive effect on regional productivity growth, among which the two mechanisms of deepening physical capital and improving market efficiency are the main ways for agglomeration to improve regional productivity, while the effects of technological progress mechanism and human capital formation and accumulation mechanism are not obvious. There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the scale of manufacturing agglomeration and the efficiency of representative agglomeration industries, and the development of manufacturing industry in metropolitan areas is more due to the specialized agglomeration economy.（AI翻译）
