本书以诗歌本体为切入点，通过宏观概括与微观分析，以文本细读与文化学、发生学相结合的方式，对晚清诗界革命中诗歌本体的构成要素——语言、节奏、意象、体式等进行剖析，从中发掘出这些要素内部出现的相异于传统诗歌新的质素与趋向，通过历史的纵向比照，认为这些新质素解构了传统诗歌的本体而孕育了现代新诗的发展方向，从而得出现代新诗的发生早于胡适等人的倡导和尝试而肇端于晚清诗界革命的结论。

This book takes the poetry ontology as the starting point, through macro generalization and micro analysis, and combines text close reading, cultural studies and occurrence studies, to analyze the constituent elements of the poetry ontology in the revolution of the late Qing Dynasty poetry - language, rhythm, imagery, style, etc., from which it is discovered that the new qualities and trends that appear within these elements are different from traditional poetry, and through the longitudinal comparison of history, it is believed that these new qualities deconstruct the ontology of traditional poetry and give birth to the development direction of modern new poetry. It is concluded that the emergence of modern new poetry predates the advocacy and attempts of Hu Shi and others and originated with the revolution in the poetry circles of the late Qing Dynasty.（AI翻译）
