超验，在作者看来，既是一种审美态度，也是一种哲学思维。“超验”的诗学探索，旨在将诗的审美与哲理认知有效地统一，建构文学艺术的本体性（语言》与总体性（诗性）合一的象征诗学。针对宙同化、同质化等“非诗”写作趋势，该书着眼于探讨诗的超验写作的话语特征特征及表意可能，以期对当代诗歌发展提供参考。通过分析海子、昌耀、洛夫、西川、潭延桐等诗人作品，勾勒“超验”诗写的理路与可能，由此呈现作者倡导的语言本体意识层面的文学态度与理论旨趣，以及诗性、灵性与神性合一的“超验”书写。
