本书首次系统梳理和总结了1949—2013年间中国大陆学界对台湾史的研究状况。主体部分有六章，第一章是关于台湾通史撰写及台湾史研究的理论方法等宏观问题的讨论，第二至第六章大致按时段叙述不同时期对台湾史的学术研究状况。每章基本上包括三个方面的内容：一是按问题评述重要研究论著的学术贡献，理清相关问题研究的发展脉络；二是概述重要研究资料的整理与出版情况，提供相关研究资料的线索；三是指出既往研究中存在的不足及有待于进一步研究的问题，指明新的研究方向。
This book is the first to systematically sort out and summarize the research status of Taiwan history in Chinese mainland academic circles from 1949 to 2013. The main part has six chapters, the first chapter is a discussion of macro issues such as the writing of Taiwan's general history and the theoretical methods of Taiwan history research, and the second to sixth chapters roughly describe the academic research on Taiwan's history in different periods by time period.
