This book is based on transcripts of interviews with 41 German and Austrian sinologists. Most of them are engaged in research and teaching in universities or research institutions, and many of them enjoy a high reputation in the field of sinology, and have a deep affection for Chinese and Chinese culture. The interview talks about their journey in China studies and Chinese language teaching, the development of German and Austrian Chinese studies, their experiences of exchanges with China, and their contributions to China's reform and opening up and the study of literature, history and other social sciences.
