This book studies China's frontiers and frontier governance from a national perspective and national position, places China's frontiers in the geographical space covered by national territory and national activities, highlights the national and political geospatial attributes of frontiers, draws on the frontier and frontier governance theories of other countries, especially Western powers, regards frontiers as marginal areas of national boundaries, examines frontier governance from the overall pattern of national governance, and sorts out the historical and cultural resources of China's frontiers and frontier governance.
