本书将社区作为观察中国社会转型的基础性单元，基于北京市三个社区的长期田野调查，以社区组织网络为研究切入点，通过对社区内和社区间组织网络的深入细致分析，精彩展示了国家、市场、社会关系在微观社会中的变迁图景和逻辑，并探讨了社区组织网络与社区的公共生活及社区治理的关系。本书不但在研究切入点和研究方法上独辟蹊径，在理论上也创造性地提出与威权主义理论和市民社会理论不同的解释，认为转型中的中国城市社区治理呈现出一种可称为梯形治理的独特治理格局。在此格局中，国家—社会—市场的各自扩展形成一种混合各种要素的结合性治理模式，既非威权主义下国家对社会全面控制，也非市民社会理论中强有力的社会自下而上生发出对国家的限制。

Based on the long-term fieldwork of three communities in Beijing, this book takes the community organization network as the research starting point, and through the in-depth and detailed analysis of the organization network within and between communities, it brilliantly shows the change picture and logic of the state, market and social relations in the microsociety, and discusses the relationship between the community organization network and the public life and community governance of the community. This book not only opens up a unique approach in terms of research entry points and research methods, but also creatively puts forward different explanations from authoritarian theory and civil society theory in theory, arguing that urban community governance in China in transition presents a unique governance pattern that can be called trapezoidal governance. In this pattern, the respective expansion of the state-society-market forms a combined governance model that mixes various elements, which is neither the state's overall control of society under authoritarianism, nor the restrictions on the state from the bottom up in the strong society theory of civil society.（AI翻译）
