From the broad perspective of the development of American Sinology, this book systematically reviews the historical background, stage characteristics, main achievements, and methodological paths of Su Shi's research in the field of American Sinology, and thus unfolds the comparison of Sino-American and Soviet studies, and conducts in-depth discussions at the level of Chinese and Western poetic dialogue. American sinologists have unique views on Su Shi's poetry, literary endowment, calligraphy and painting, political philosophical thought, literary and artistic aesthetic thought, and derogatory mentality, and there are also great differences in academic discourse and theoretical perspective, which leads to thinking about the integration of Chinese and Western literary research methods, the analysis of the compatibility of classical Chinese poetry with Western theoretical discourse, and value judgment in the study of cross-heterogeneous civilizations.（AI翻译）
