高等教育扩张为社会大众带来更多接受高等教育机会的同时，是否促进了代际流动？本书围绕这一问题，结合经济学中的信号筛选理论与社会学中的现代化理论等，对教育扩张影响代际流动的程度和机制进行理论分析，并基于全国性的抽样调查数据，从同期群视角出发，实证检验了研究假设。同时，作者还探讨了在高等教育扩张之后，为维持阶层优势或实现向上流动，不同社会阶层的流动策略选择问题。

While the expansion of higher education has led to greater access to higher education for the general public, has it promoted intergenerational mobility? Focusing on this problem, this book combines signal screening theory in economics and modernization theory in sociology, analyzes the degree and mechanism of educational expansion affecting intergenerational mobility, and empirically tests the research hypothesis from the perspective of cohort based on national sample survey data. At the same time, the authors also explore the mobility strategies of different social classes in order to maintain class advantages or achieve upward mobility after the expansion of higher education.（AI翻译）
