本书在广泛收集史料的基础上，详细考察了以皇室为主体的明朝宫廷与佛教之间的关系，以及佛教影响在明朝宫廷消长变化的历史过程。重点研讨了明朝帝后倡导、崇好、耽溺佛教的种种表现、原因及影响；对宫中宦官的佛教信仰、宦官与佛教寺院、僧人的结纳关系也进行了较为深入的分析。书中还利用一些新挖掘的史料，就明朝宫廷与藏传佛教，特别是以往人们较少了解的印传密教即“西天教“间的关系进行了梳理。

Based on the extensive collection of historical materials, this book examines the relationship between the imperial court and Buddhism, as well as the historical process of the influence of Buddhism on the change of the court during the Ming dynasty. This paper focuses on the various manifestations, causes and influences of advocating, worshiping and indulging Buddhism after the Ming dynasty. The relationship between the buddhist faith, the eunuch and the buddhist temple and the monk is also analyzed. In the book, some new excavations are also used to tease out the relationship between the Ming court and Tibetan Buddhism, especially in the past.
