本书以明代文言“鬼小说”为研究对象，通过对明代文言“鬼小说”的创作目的、创作环境、故事类型、艺术特征以及文化内涵的考查，勾勒出了明代文言“鬼小说”的整体风貌。此外还通过对“鬼”故事、“鬼”文化的分析，揭示出了蕴含在“鬼小说”中特殊的文化特征，以及特殊的士人心态。同时，对明代“鬼小说”的综合性研究，还能揭示出明代文言小说创作上的诸多特征，通过对这些特征的分析可以进一步廓清有关明代文言小说种种误解，还原真实的文学风貌。借此可以对明代文言小说进行更为客观的评价，可以说对“鬼小说”的正确认识不仅可以使我们多一条观察明代文言小说的途径，甚至对当代的小说创作都有着“借古照今”的意义。

This book takes "Ghost Novels" in the classical Chinese of the Ming Dynasty as the research object, and outlines the overall style of "Ghost Novels" in the classical Chinese of the Ming Dynasty by examining the creative purpose, creative environment, story types, artistic characteristics and cultural connotation of "Ghost Novels" in the classical Chinese of the Ming Dynasty. It can be said that the correct understanding of the "ghost novel" can not only show us more ways to observe the classical Chinese novels of the Ming Dynasty, but also have the significance of "borrowing the past to reflect the present" for the creation of contemporary novels.
