In the field of philosophy of technology, as the theoretical support of philosophy of technology, technical epistemology needs to analyze the specific process of engineering and technical activities and their results, analyze the knowledge involved in the process of technical activities, and their evolution and integration. From the perspective of technical activity process, technical knowledge can be divided into four types: functional knowledge, physical knowledge, means-end knowledge and action knowledge.
